EDWIN STIVEN - NEWS
Eddie is currently working on
a project called 'Vinland', a play about two Scots slaves who were put
ashore by the Vikings in North America exactly 1,00 years ago. He plans to tour it in 2010, both here and in America, with a company called
'Open Book'.
He has been commissioned to write a half-hour Radio Play for BBC Radio Scotland. The play is entitled ‘Wings of the Morning’ and will be produced by Bona Broadcasting (Producer/Director, Turan Ali). The play is set in a mountain rescue command post at the dawn of the new Millennium and is based on a real incident in which the author was involved (he is a member of Glenelg Mountain Rescue Team). As the drama unfolds on the mountain, the two co-ordinators, Ewen, a local Estate Keeper, and Louise, a young Policewoman, muse on the present state and possible futures of the Scottish Highlands, and how these might have a bearing on their own lives and relationship.
